Sometimes as writers, we try and put narrative development above character development. We try to

move our characters around like chess pieces that do our bidding. The problem with that is sometimes the characters do things they shouldn't do. Things that are inorganic.
Jeff Nichols

I've cried my eyes out and wanted to end it all before. I hope everybody's gone that far, because it makes life rich.

I think that Matt Murdock, the way he kind of holds himself, he's quite sensible at times, and he's quite serious. I think he would admire Captain America - not that he wouldn't admire Iron Man, but I think he probably be a little put off by his grandiosity.

tell you the number of films between Drugstore Cowboy and Curly Sue that I auditioned for and wanted that didn't choose me. Kelly Lynch I haven't spoken English with native speakers in several months. I've been speaking Arabic. to some extent embarking on historical linguistics. Ferdinand de Saussure She's 32, and she has three children. She loves to be pregnant but she doesn't want anymore children in her life. So she decided to help another couple. And she's just been amazing. Cheryl Tiegs Just as Pollock used the drip to meld process and product, Richter 'found' and used the smudge and the blur to ravish the eye, creating works of psychic and physical power. Jerry Saltz I don't understand why the accent you speak in has to indicate what level of intellect you have. Paloma Faith The Galapagos Islands provide a window on time. 'The Golden Compass' became a bad experience because the studio didn't have faith in the

strength of the ideas of the novel, which is ironic because it's one of the greatest fantasy novels ever written, if not the greatest, and they took the religion out of it and tried to turn it into a popcorn movie. Chris Weitz If I feel strongly, I say it. I know I can do more good by being vocal than by staying quiet. I'd have a whole lot more money if I lied, but I wouldn't enjoy spending it. Sigourney Weaver The people who are competing business-wise out there want what other successful labels and artists have. I don't want what they have; I want my own path, my own sound, my own identity. Record labels care nothing about identity or artistic freedom, they want good business.
